OperatorNest

An AI agent that works around the clock

OperatorNest is an always-on AI agent that you can reach any time, and it keeps running schedules, watches and background tasks when you're not in the chat. Send it a task at 11 p.m. on a Sunday and it starts then, in its own cloud workspace, with results and pending approvals waiting when you check in.

How the work moves

  1. Starts when

A message from you, a schedule you set, or a watch condition firing.

  2. Uses

Its own cloud workspace, with a browser and the tools you've connected.

  3. Asks you before

Any step that would send, pay, book, delete or publish, before it runs.

  4. You get

A finished result, a brief, or a decision waiting in your channel.

  5. On the record

A timestamped record of what ran and what changed, for every task.

An AI agent that’s reachable around the clock

OperatorNest is an always-on AI agent. Send it a task at 11 p.m. on a Sunday and it starts at 11 p.m., whether or not a chat window is open. Work also starts from a schedule, a watch condition or a task you handed it earlier, and it keeps going after you close the tab.

What “always-on” means, honestly

“Always-on” doesn’t mean your operator is thinking about you every second. It means three things:

  • It’s reachable any time, from any channel you’ve connected, and starts on a new task within moments of getting it.
  • It runs scheduled and background work on its own, without you there to re-trigger it.
  • Results and decisions wait in your channel until you check in.

It never goes to sleep, and it never invents work on its own initiative. It acts on triggers: something you asked for, a time you set, or a condition you defined.

Three ways work starts without you

A schedule. For example, a Monday 7 a.m. competitor brief, or a Friday afternoon summary of what shipped that week. You set the cadence once and it runs from then on. See recurring tasks for how schedules work.

A watch. You define a condition and your operator checks it in the background: a flight price drops below a number, a specific sender emails you, a document changes. When it fires, a task starts.

A task that outlives your chat. You ask for something that takes longer than a few minutes, like comparing twelve vendors or drafting a full trip itinerary. You close the chat, the task keeps running, and your operator reports back when it’s done. See background tasks for that flow.

Reachable from wherever you already are

You can send a task from WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, iMessage, email or the web, and your operator answers in that same channel, whatever triggered the underlying work. If a scheduled brief finishes while you’re mid-conversation in Slack, it shows up there. If you originally asked by email, the result comes back by email.

You keep using the channels you already check during the day, with no new app to open for a status update.

Where the work runs

Each task runs in your operator’s own cloud workspace, separate from your device and from any chat thread. That workspace has a real browser for looking things up, comparing options and filling in forms, plus the files and tools you’ve connected for that operator. Your laptop can go to sleep and the task keeps running.

If you run more than one operator, for example one for research and one for your inbox, each keeps its own workspace, memory and permissions, and they run in parallel. See multiple operators.

What you see when you check in

When you come back, an hour later or the next morning, you get a plain account of what finished, what’s waiting on your approval and what’s still in progress. For example:

Overnight: pulled 14 mentions of your product from the last 24 hours, drafted replies to 3, and held 1 refund request for your approval.

Nothing that sends, pays, books, deletes or publishes happens without your sign-off; see approvals for exactly what waits. Everything that ran, and why, is logged; see receipts.

Always-on, still in control

Every task your operator runs while you’re away is recorded in the same detail as one you watched live: what it read, what it decided, what it drafted, and what it’s waiting on you for. You can pause a schedule, cancel a watch or stop a running task at any point, and nothing continues once you do.

Hand-off · WhatsApp, 23:30

Watch Meta Muse, Grok Bot and Instinct overnight. Check their official sites, pricing and help pages, release notes, app store listings, and news from the last 24 hours at 1:00, 4:00 and 6:30. At 7:00 send me a brief here: what changed, how it affects us, with sources. If anything is material, also draft a short note to my co-founder about it and hold it for my approval.

Brief

2 material changes, 1 minor, 1 draft waiting

Meta Muse: at Meta Connect (23–24 Sept), Meta said Muse is coming to its AI glasses in the coming months, with no date, and expanded Muse computer work on Mac, where the app launched on 18 Sept. More places to reach Muse counts as material. Meta also announced an opt-in data-protection standard and previewed a confidential VM, both additions to Muse's privacy controls. Instinct: a wording change on one help page, not material. Grok Bot: no change since the last check. A note to your co-founder about the Muse announcements is drafted and held for your approval.

Approval

Send this note to your co-founder about Muse's Connect announcements?

Draft: "At Connect this week Meta said Muse is coming to its AI glasses in the next few months and expanded what it can do on Mac, plus an opt-in data-protection standard and a confidential VM preview. More channels, still only Meta's own model. Worth a look once the glasses support ships." Source linked.

Nothing has been sent yet.

Decision: Edited one line to soften the framing, then approved at 07:14. The note sent immediately; nothing had gone out before that.

Common questions

What does "always-on" mean?

Your operator is reachable any time and keeps working on schedules, watches and tasks you've already sent, even when you're not in the chat. Between those triggers it waits; when one fires, it does the work and reports back.

What can start a task while I'm away?

A schedule you set, a watch condition such as an inbox or price change, or a task you sent earlier that takes longer than one sitting. Each one runs in your operator's own workspace, separate from your chat session.

Will it wake me up for a decision?

Only if you've asked for that on a specific task. Normally it holds anything that needs your approval and adds it to your next check-in, so you can review everything at once.

Does it ever stop working?

Only if you pause or delete a task, or pause the operator itself. Otherwise it keeps checking its schedules and watches, and you can message it any time.
