Check the tone of an email

Review an email draft for tone and clarity, then rewrite it in the tone you choose.

Example: checking a project update: A complete draft is loaded with Warm selected. Review its observations and rewrite, or replace the text and run the check.

Maximum 4,000 characters.

Draft text is never stored by this tool. It is sent to the analysis model to produce the review and rewrite. Avoid passwords, payment details, and sensitive personal information.

Example review and rewrite are ready to read or copy.

This tool reviews wording. It does not check legal compliance or send email. For commercial email guidance, read the FTC guide, checked 28 September 2026.

An operator can review inbox threads, draft replies, and hold sends for your approval. See inbox work.

Tone review

Warm tone selected. Example output for the draft at left.

Phrase-specific observations

  • “I wanted to follow up”

This delays the request. Name the response you need.

  • “I know you have a lot on your plate”

This guesses at the recipient’s workload. Keep the note focused on the project.

  • “I’m sorry to ask again”

The apology understates a reasonable request. Remove it or state the need plainly.

  • “soon”

The timing is unclear. Add a date only if you can choose one.

Wording flags

  • Unclear ask
  • Over-apology
  • Missing deadline

Check every detail before using it.

Hi Priya, Could you share your feedback on the Acme Inc project update by [date]? I sent it Tuesday. Thanks, Sam

How it works

The checker sends the draft and selected tone to an analysis model, which returns phrase-specific observations, wording flags, and a rewrite.

The tool does not save the draft after analysis. The result is a writing aid; check names, dates, commitments, and meaning before use.

Common questions

What does the email tone checker review?
It returns three to five observations tied to phrases in your draft, checks four wording flags, and rewrites the email in your selected tone.
Does the tool save my draft?
The draft is sent to the analysis model and is not saved by this tool after analysis. Do not enter passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information.
Does the rewrite preserve my facts?
The instructions ask the model to keep the facts you supplied. Read the result carefully because generated text can still change meaning or omit context.
Does this tool send email or check compliance?
No. It returns text for you to review and copy or download. For commercial email requirements, read the FTC guide, checked 28 September 2026.
