OperatorNest

OperatorNest tools over MCP

Connect your assistant to five calculators at https://operatornest.com/mcp. Each tool returns a complete calculation and a link to open the inputs on its matching page.

Server connection

Use https://operatornest.com/mcp with Streamable HTTP. No account, API key or sign-in is required. Tools calculate results without AI calls, input storage or input logging. Your assistant or a directory gateway may retain the inputs under its own policy.

Requests accept at most 32,768 bytes and one MCP message at a time. Each client IP can send 300 requests per minute. A limit response has status 429 and a 60-second retry interval. Tool results include units, assumptions and source dates. Result links carry inputs in the URL fragment; anyone you share a link with can read them.

The server is open source under the MIT license: OperatorNest/mcp-tools. You can run it yourself over stdio or as a Cloudflare Worker.

AI API cost

ai_api_cost: Estimate USD per request, day and month from token counts, caching and published batch discounts. Use for an API workload budget, not chat subscriptions. Model IDs use providerId/id from https://operatornest.com/api/models?subset=pricing; some catalog records are unavailable through MCP. Rates are from the dated catalog snapshot returned with the result.

Cron next runs

cron_next_runs: Preview 1–10 cron matches strictly after a supplied UTC instant within 366 days, in an IANA time zone. Supports numeric stars, lists, ranges, steps and weekday names for GitHub, Cloudflare, Quartz and AWS dialects. L, W, # and named months are rejected. This does not install or run a schedule.

Open Settings, then Security and login, and enable Developer mode. In Plugins, select the plus button, enter the server URL above and create the plugin with no authentication. Open your personal plugins and install it. Start a Work chat, type @ and select OperatorNest tools. Account and workspace controls may affect access. These steps follow the official connection guide, checked 2 October 2026.

Claude

On an individual Pro or Max account, open Customize, then Connectors. Select Add, then Add custom connector, enter “OperatorNest tools” and the server URL. Choose No sign in, then finish adding the connector. Enable it for the conversation. Team and Enterprise accounts need an authorized owner to add it in Organization settings first. See the official custom connector steps, checked 2 October 2026.

Codex

Add the remote server with the CLI, then use /mcp to check the connection. The CLI, desktop app and IDE extension share MCP configuration on the same host. See the official MCP guide, checked 2 October 2026.

codex mcp add operatornest-tools --url https://operatornest.com/mcp

Cursor

Add this entry to .cursor/mcp.json for a project or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects. Merge it with existing servers, save the file and restart Cursor. See the official manual setup guide, checked 2 October 2026.

Gemini CLI

Add the server with the HTTP transport, then run gemini mcp list to check the connection. See the official MCP server guide, checked 2 October 2026.

gemini mcp add --transport http operatornest-tools https://operatornest.com/mcp

Other MCP clients

Create a remote server connection named OperatorNest tools, choose Streamable HTTP and paste https://operatornest.com/mcp. Choose no authentication. Refresh the tool list and check that all five names above appear. Client configuration formats vary; use your client’s remote HTTP settings rather than a local command. The endpoint supports the current revision and stateless compatibility for older clients, following the official MCP transport guide, checked 2 October 2026.

Limits and errors

These tools do not read personal calendars, cancel subscriptions, install schedules or execute tasks. API estimates use the catalog snapshot shipped with the calculator; the response names its date. Subscription sources were checked 27 September 2026. Cron syntax sources were checked 28 September 2026. Review dated sources before relying on a cost estimate or scheduling a job.

Invalid tool inputs return an error. Compare your input with the tool’s schema and retry. HTTP errors include 400 for a malformed request or batch, 403 for a disallowed browser origin, 413 for an oversized body, 415 for an unsupported content type, 429 for the request limit and 503 when calculations are unavailable. Native clients can connect without an Origin header; browser origins are limited to this site, ChatGPT and Claude. You can also use the public JSON API.
